Site Investigation & Remediation

Site Investigation & Remediation

Originally built in the 1920's, this traditional four-story school with its brick and terracotta exterior and a four-sided clock tower was historically restored. In 1999, Payne Environmental conducted a Transaction Screening Process for the subject site in accordance with the standard practice established by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) "Standard Practice for Environmental Site Assessments: Transaction Screen Process - E-1528." Payne Environmental provided appropriate oversight during all site work to ensure that site work was performed in accordance with the project design specifications, including documenting full compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, standards, and guidelines. An appropriate sampling and analysis plan was implemented to identify and quantify the presence of regulated and hazardous substances throughout the building. PAYNE assessed the potential for regulated/hazardous materials that required special handling during the renovation phase and prepared technical specifications describing the procedures and methods for the abatement of all regulated/hazardous materials from this site. Planned opening 2004.
